I like to think that I have been an artist since the age of two when, to my parents' dismay, I drew pumpkins on my bedroom walls. After college, I went on to teach high school art on Long Island for 32 years. It was the best of both worlds, allowing me to share my knowledge and love of art in the classroom and to paint and exhibit during the summers. Having retired to Sarasota, I now am thoroughly enjoying teaching drawing and watercolor at the adult education level.

Although fluent in a variety of media, my favorite is watercolor. I love its transparency and its unpredictability, especially in my florals and landscapes. Capturing the effects of light and shadow is my passion.

My French heritage has always drawn me to France and my love of Impressionism to Monet. My trips to Giverny have provided me with some of my most enjoyable painting experiences.
